Training "GLOBALG.A.P. Requirements for Fruits and Vegetables, version 5.2"
Consulting company GDCI is the first company in Georgian promoting GLOBALG.A.P. standard and is the associated member of GLOBALG.A.P. since 2018.
In September 2019 GDCI plans to conduct 3-day (15 hours) training "GLOBALG.A.P. Requirements for Fruits and Vegetables, Version 5.2". The training is targeted to those farms which are dedicated to managing their operations according to international requirements.
Training dates: 9 September, 16 September, 23 September (3 days - 15 hours)
Training fee: 450 GEL
Registration deadline: 6 September, 2019

GLOBALG.A.P. Project for berry farmers
Starting from March 2019, EBRD in Georgia with support of EU4Business Initiative of the EU. launches programme for berries’ producer clusters on implementation of GLOBALG.A.P. standard.
The programme is implemented by an associate member of GLOBALG.A.P. – GDCI Ltd, The detailed information about eligibility and conditions is presented in the attached document (in Georgian). To participate, please fill out application form attached by March 5, 2019 and send on the e-mails indicated in the announcement or application. Applicants will be informed about the results of the selection by March 10, 2019. Programme implementation starts on March 20, 2019.

The conference "GLOBALG.A.P. Development Perspectives in Georgia" will be held on 7 June, 2018. The event is hosted by GDCI in partnership with Traktor and organized in cooperation with GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat, FoodPlus GmbH. The conference is supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Georgia".
The objective of the conference is to present to various stakeholders GLOBALG.A.P. requirements (fruits and vegetables), benefits, challenges and the requirements of export markets. The issues related to GLOBALG.A.P. development in Georgia will be discussed in working groups based on which next activities will be planned. The main part of the conference will be led by the representatives from GLOBALG.A.P. Secretariat.

It is highly recommended that interested parties register for the conference by 9 May, 2018. Due to high interest, the priority will be attached to early registrants. Also, in order to ensure the participation of all relevant parties in the conference, participation quotas are established for each type of organisation.

Internal audit training for iso 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2005 - 17-20 October, 2016
GDCI announces 4 days training for the internal auditors of international standards ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2005. The training is elaborated based on ISO 19011:2011 (Guide to management system audits), ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2005.

The full course on food safety management systems is planned during October 3-6, 2016. The main topic of the training is Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan development.

new publication - food safety and quality manual for hazelnut sector
With the active involvement of GDCI team the food safety and quality related sector-specific guidelines were developed for Georgian hazelnut sector. The elaboration and publication of "FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY MANUAL FOR HAZELNUT SECTOR" was supported by PTB and GIZ. The manual fully covers the hazelnut supply chain and includes information applicable to farming operations (setting up of orchard, orchard management, harvesting and post-harvest handling), storage, collection, transportation, processing (Good Manufacturing Practices, prerequisite programs, sample HACCP plans). Additionally the information presented integrates overview of National Quality Infrastructure and its institutions, statistics of hazelnut production in Georgia, export market analysis, overview of food safety management system, Georgian and EU legislation regarding food safety, overview of hazelnut product specific standards and process related standards (ISO, FSSC, IFS, BRC, GLOBALGAP) that can be introduced and implemented by Georgian hazelnut sector representatives. The annexes presented in the electronic form include Codex Alimentarius and UNECE standards related to hazelnut sector, several sample Standard Operating Procedures, sample templates for record-keeping, sample hazard analysis.
We hope that the FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY MANUAL FOR HAZELNUT SECTOR will facilitate the increase of awareness and knowledge of hazelnut sector representatives regarding food safety and quality which is directly linked with the increase of competitiveness and long-term development of Georgian hazelnut sector.

Expected changes to the code oN food/feed safety, veterinary and plant protection
The final draft of the changes to the Code on Food/Feed Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection has been completed by the National Food Agency. Final draft document is available at the NFA website.

The first attempt of sector-specific guideliens - Dairy Food Safety Manual
GDCI initiated developmet of Food Safety Manual designed specifically for small and medium size dairy chain representatives, including farms, milk collection centers, processors, distributors/retailers. The manual describes the General Hygiene Rules with due consideration of specifics of the dairy sector and provides samples of the SOPs and HACCP plan.
